Dr. Russell King is a Registered Psychologist in the Province of British Columbia (No. 1464). He graduated from the Chicago based Adler School of Professional Psychology with a Doctor of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology April 2000. Prior to completion of his doctoral degree and registration as a psychologist, he held the designation of a Masters level Registered Clinical Counsellor from 1994 to 2000. Dr. King has been in private practice since 1992, when he completed his Masters degree in Counselling Psychology. His graduate training dates back to 1990.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. King held the position of Executive Director for the Adlerian Psychology Association of (BC) from 1999 to 2005. APABC owned and operated the Adler School of Professional Psychology (BC). In June 2005 he assumed the role of Dean of the Adler School of Professional Psychology, Vancouver Campus, and remained in that position until February 2007. During his time with the school, Dr. King provided academic, administrative and institutional leadership to a growing campus. He also taught numerous master’s level graduate courses as well as provided clinical supervision to graduate students. Dr. King is an avid learner and continues to enhance his therapeutic skill set by participating in specialized training. At present, Dr. King is devoting his full time efforts to his private practice.
Dr. King has appeared before the Provincial Court of British Columbia to provide expert opinion regarding clinical psychological issues, and has membership status in the following organizations:
